Ja 3.1:   My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
St 3.1:   HERMANOS míos, no os hagáis muchos maestros, sabiendo que recibiremos mayor condenación.
Ja 3.2:   For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.
St 3.2:   Porque todos ofendemos en muchas cosas. Si alguno no ofende en palabra, éste es varón perfecto, que también puede con freno gobernar todo el cuerpo.
Ja 3.3:   Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
St 3.3:   He aquí nosotros ponemos frenos en las bocas de los caballos para que nos obedezcan, y gobernamos todo su cuerpo.
Ja 3.4:   Behold also the ships, which though [they be] so great, and [are] driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
St 3.4:   Mirad también las naves: aunque tan grandes, y llevadas de impetuosos vientos, son gobernadas con un muy pequeño timón por donde quisiere el que las gobierna.
Ja 3.5:   Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
St 3.5:   Así también, la lengua es un miembro pequeño, y se gloría de grandes cosas. He aquí, un pequeño fuego ¡cuán grande bosque enciende!
Ja 3.6:   And the tongue [is] a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
St 3.6:   Y la lengua es un fuego, un mundo de maldad. Así la lengua está puesta entre nuestros miembros, la cual contamina todo el cuerpo, é inflama la rueda de la creación, y es inflamada del infierno.
Ja 3.7:   For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
St 3.7:   Porque toda naturaleza de bestias, y de aves, y de serpientes, y de seres de la mar, se doma y es domada de la naturaleza humana:
Ja 3.8:   But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
St 3.8:   Pero ningún hombre puede domar la lengua, que es un mal que no puede ser refrenado; llena de veneno mortal.
Ja 3.9:   Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
St 3.9:   Con ella bendecimos al Dios y Padre, y con ella maldecimos á los hombres, los cuales son hechos á la semejanza de Dios.
Ja 3.10:   Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
St 3.10:   De una misma boca proceden bendición y maldición. Hermanos míos, no conviene que estas cosas sean así hechas.
Ja 3.11:   Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet [water] and bitter?
St 3.11:   ¿Echa alguna fuente por una misma abertura agua dulce y amarga?
Ja 3.12:   Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so [can] no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
St 3.12:   Hermanos míos, ¿puede la higuera producir aceitunas, ó la vid higos? Así ninguna fuente puede hacer agua salada y dulce.
Ja 3.13:   Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
St 3.13:   ¿Quién es sabio y avisado entre vosotros? muestre por buena conversación sus obras en mansedumbre de sabiduría.
Ja 3.14:   But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
St 3.14:   Pero si tenéis envidia amarga y contención en vuestros corazones, no os gloriés, ni seáis mentirosos contra la verdad:
Ja 3.15:   This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.
St 3.15:   Que esta sabiduría no es la que desciende de lo alto, sino terrena, animal, diabólica.
Ja 3.16:   For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
St 3.16:   Porque donde hay envidia y contención, allí hay perturbación y toda obra perversa.
Ja 3.17:   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
St 3.17:   Mas la sabiduría que es de lo alto, primeramente es pura, después pacífica, modesta, benigna, llena de misericordia y de buenos frutos, no juzgadora, no fingida.
Ja 3.18:   And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
St 3.18:   Y el fruto de justicia se siembra en paz para aquellos que hacen paz.
